Fast cars, broken hearts, and beatniks on the run... Theras’ music is a ride up the California coast on a hot summer night, in car full of kids going everywhere fast — where the skirts are too short, the booze is too strong, and the emotions soar too high.
Tapping influences ranging from the Doors to Fiona Apple, and Leonard Cohen to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Theras’ bluesy pop-rock takes you on a trip from euphoria, to heartache, to questioning our societal reality — and all the way back again.
Several of Theras' debut singles were written over a decade ago while living in Montreal and Toronto. There, she bootstrapped her production by creating beats with household appliances and layering them over vocals to mimic instruments.
Several of her demos have been available for online listening for a number of years, and on April 5, 2019, she released her debut single, "Ruled".
