Roxy, Ronda, Rita, Ramona, and Roslyn Huset were given the chance to play in a band by their grandfather, Lloyd Huset. Accompanied by his wife Gladys, Grandpa Lloyd taught each girl to play chords on his tenor guitar. Grandma Gladys taught them 5 part harmonies at her piano and would play for them in church. As these 5 girls grew to women, their career grew from amateur to astounding.
Playing @ large festivals such as Eau Claire's Country Jam, Cadott's Country Fest, and Rhinelander's Hodag festival, motivation and talent won them 'pick off' competitions and blew away judges with their musical talent. These 'pick offs' brought them to stages shared with Tammy Wynette, Janie Fricke, Barbara Mandrell, and Ricky Nelson. The R Country Gals have opened for artists such as: Vince Gill, Reba McEntire, Patty Loveless, and Mary Chapin-Carpenter, and recently John Michael Montgomery.
The R Country Gals have never been so engaged to bring back the heart of country music. They are ready to share with the crowd what they have in their soul "Good Old Country Bluegrass."
