THERE FULL BIOGRAPHY
OVER TEN YEARS OF NON-STOP ROCK

In October 1989 Boston caught it’s first glimpse of the symbol that is THERE, but the mystery of the band behind this image only gradually became revealed. N.E. Performer - “You’ve seen the bilateral symbol every where... An unusual headpiece? An elaborate hood ornament? An ancient Babylonian fertility symbol, perhaps? Look closely enough and you can see all the letters of THERE in it...”.

Over the following years rock n’ rollers Vic Dobson, Jake Hamilton, and Andrew Shadrawy experimented with the fusion of sounds which they believed to be the essential ingredients for their rock. Inspired by such artists as Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, they melded blues basics, intense grinding metal, dark jazzy psychedelia, and modern creativity, then expressed this mix through a fierce Gibson SG, a raspy Rickenbacker bass, and a thickly melodic, yet coarse and charismatic voice.

In October 1995 the power trio emerged from their sonic metamorphosis as THERE and put out a 5-song self titled demo cassette loaded with super heavy guitar-laden jam-rock-metal, and the group began booking and playing gigs around the Boston area. Having developed a variety of rock not easily labeled they called their new brand of music “Thoroughbred Rock N’ Roll”. Shortly thereafter they were dubbed “Bostons best kept secret” by WZBC.

THERE released their self titled debut full length album in August of 1997 on their own label, Say Jim?! Records [Recorded at Cold Room Studio, Engineered by Y. Mike, Mastered by Andrew Murdock]. “...guitar heavy riffs with lots of aural pyrotechnics, heavy cymbal-drum combinations, thick supporting bass and a full melodic voice...” - N.E. Performer Practically a modern hard rock concept album, the listener is taken on an intergalactic journey on an over 70 min. dose of THERE’s first wave of music. Song by song you travel through a range of styles from the rusty hard rock of Sovereign and Games to the funkier grooves of Dominudin. “...a refreshing blast from the past...THERE brings you back to the good old days of rock n’ roll...” - Metronome Topics range from drugs to politics to science fiction. “The songs are stories and are either thirty seconds or up to fourteen minutes long.” - Instant The eclectic album received a warm welcome in Boston and some regular rotation on college and commercial radio in the New England area. In turn, THERE expanded their gigs around New England and into New York.

Touring constantly throughout 1998 they even toned things down a bit to play a monthly gig in the Corner at the Middle East in Cambridge, MA. One result of this was the release of their cassette EP Downstairs [Recorded live on the downstairs stage at the Middle East with Andrew Donhieser, Mastered by Andrew Murdock] which
