THE REACTION began with the mail correspondence between WADE DRIVER and
LIZ BYRNE in 2005. He lived in SAN MARCOS, TX. and she was living in HAYWARD, CA. During this period the first songs were written and a DEMO was made. In 2006 Wade moved to San Francisco and soon after we booked a show. The problem was that we didn't have a drummer. We hooked up with Willy Nilz of WILDILDLIFE, practiced twice and played our first show. Over the next year and a half, THE REACTION played many shows, played at SXSW, released two records, and toured the northwest. Willy moved to SEATTLE with WILDILDLIFE. Enter: PHIL GALANTE. Phil took over
on drums and we played many more shows, played SXSW again, and recorded songs for an upcoming 10" vinyl record and a split 7" with ARMEDALITE RIFLES.
Over the few years that THE REACTION has been around we have tried to always keep moving in every direction whether it be the heavy rock of our first year or so, our flirtations with free improvisation, or our indulgence in experimental racket. Expect the unexpected! We have nothing to lose but boredom!
