Walterboro SC native, Gerren J-Shyne Shider was born January 16th, 1988 to George and Brenda Shider who instilled faith and music in him from a young age. With the brand J-Shyne (Jesus Shine), he vows to build up the Kingdom of God through music without compromise. After serving in the Air Force, J-Shyne returned home with his wife and manager Ebony Shider to continue building his dream of being a successful artist, musician, songwriter and producer. He plans to shock the world with his musical style which resembles that of R-Kelly, Ryan Leslie and Brian McKnight but with a Biblical twist. J-Shyne is on fire for Christ and his music shows it! His latest album The Real Me is agile, authentic and anointed. J-Shyne has the gifted ability to play five instruments. He is the product of a Musical family, consisting of:
His maternal grandfather Jim Johnson, lead singer for the quartet group The Gospel Upsetters for over 40 years; his father George Shider backup lead and bass player and his uncle Kenny Shider on drums for The Gospel Upsetters. His Uncle William Kenny Shider and Cousin William (Ken-Ken) Shider Jr. have played for world renowned Gospel Artist Pastor John P. Kee and recent Stellar Award winners Teen Pure N Heart
