Bio

Many artists are influenced by the skills and talents of other artists. Most of todays performers focus on what they can do similarly to grab a crowd, instead of what they can do to separate themselves. Of course, I have been influenced by the roots of hip hop music and the artists who helped to keep it alive. However, the influence that drives my music is the failure of those who have the power to gain my respect. The artists of today have resorted to following in the footsteps of others instead of creating their own path. I lead my own way into a future that captures all of the truth behind hip hop that is lost in dances like the "Stanky Leg" and lyrics like, "Lick me like a lollipop". I will grant the artists of today one thing; they know how to sell a record. People hear these song lyrics but the question is, who is really listening? I feel that my job as an artist, is to make people listen. My lyrics relate not only to my own struggles and triumphs but to those of humanity. Throughout my many years of writing lyrics, I have become something greater then I set out to be. I recently looked back at my old rhyme books and laughed. I realize that my lyrics were based on the same topics of the artists of today. As I grew up, my standards changed with my knowledge. All I want out of this life and my musical talent is to make my listeners love my words. I realize that I have to compete with the falsehoods of music today. However, I also realize that it isn't necessary for me to take the stage for people to listen. When I released my first mixtape, "The Revolution", I sold 2000 copies. I didn't reach the goal that I wanted to. However, people that had the mixtape were being asked, "Who is that?" by those who had never heard of me. Not only did they hear me, they listened. I am proud to say that since that release my buzz has grown by leaps and bounds, and I am glad to have reached the amount of listeners that I have thus far. I don't want to bore you with stories of my personal struggles like most artists make the mistake of doing, because we ALL have personal struggles and quite frankly, we all have to fight to get to where we want to be.
