Bio

Kyle Harvey (born December 18, 1985) known by most as Pyro, is an American rapper and producer. Noted for his witty punch lines and thought provoking song concepts, Pyro has proven himself to influence listeners across all age groups and backgrounds. Pyro delivers a message through his lyrics; directed towards the young and old going through the trials and tribulations of life.

Kyle Harvey was born in Fort Benning, Georgia and grew up in Sandusky, Ohio. As a young man, his inspiration came from artists such as B.G. and The Hot Boys, Bob Marley, Tupac, Dr. Dre, Michael Jackson, and his father's collection of blues records. At the age of 14, Pyro decided to try his hand at writing songs as well as rapping. Joining up with neighborhood friend Yung James, he created his rap group “The Villains”. Not long after that, he connected with cousin Em. B'z and the three of them formed the group “Yung Sqad”. Pyro recorded and released his first mixtape self-titled “Yung Sqad” then the follow up mixtape, “The Red Bull Mixtape Vol. 1” with Yung Sqad from his bedroom studio. Pyro distributed the mixtape throughout his school and neighborhood, this allowed for a young Pyro to gain exposure. After receiving the feedback from their mixtape, the group decided to add a well-known local veteran by the name of “TAZ” to the crew. Changing their name to “Beast Click” the four emcees recorded another mixtape titled “Surrender”. This mixtape was more mature than the first in both quality and substance, and created a significant impact in the local hip-hop scene. Containing divisive tracks aimed at other local artists “Surrender” was full of controversy and caught the attention of many.

After Beast Click, Pyro decided to take a different approach on music and transitioned himself into production. He went on to produce several albums for his old group mates including “Tempest Lost Tapes”, “Em.B’z vs. Pink Floyd”, and “Purple Hayes”. Contributing his music as well as his overall vision, Pyro was an instrumental part in the completion and success of these records.

Pyro is currently hard at work on a six song EP entitled "Exodus EP", which is a pre-release to the full-length album “Exodus LP”. Although he is keeping a tight lid on the actual content of the album, it is known that this album will contain production from Pyro himself as well as few other local producers. The LP will be available for sale at internet outlets such as CD baby, I-Tunes, and Tune core, at live shows, and from his official website. Pyro hopes to build an anxiousness amongst his fans by releasing the “Exodus EP” as a free download from his website a few weeks prior to the release of the actual album. To build support for the release of his album Pyro has enlisted the help of a street team and has begun a series of performances in and around the northern Ohio area including Sandusky, Cleveland, and Toledo. Free promotional items will be given out at select shows including limited edition bracelets featuring the name of the album and release date.

"Take your heart out that breezy you lovin' cuz i can pick the lock to that breezy you cuffin" - lyrics from the track “It’s Easy”. With a natural party vibe, and a sense of realism and honesty Pyro has often been compared to that of a young Tupac Shakur. Without a doubt, Pyro has become an artist that has gained respect amongst the industry and fans, while staying true to himself, his city, and his views.
