Bio

The Real Sippin’ Whiskeys formed in the last century when a transplant east coast car mechanic raised on indie rock and pop, placed a want ad “seeking musicians to form a classic country band” and attracted the attention of a jazz drummer, rock guitar player, classical violinist, and bassist formally in the Serbian Mafia. Together these diverse musicians created a unique county sound that drew on the heritage of the California country and country rock tradition. Since formed the band has written most of its own material and has played all of Northern California in old time Honky Tonks, Rock Clubs and 600 seat music venues. The Whiskeys are currently completing their second record, which contains some great new originals that branch away from traditional county and towards a more alternative roots sound. Two songs to be featured on this record or written by band member David Strahan and were a finalist and an honorable mention in the Great Lakes Songwriting Contest. These songs are “Beholden” and “Picture of Me” respectively and are included in the Whiskey’s Sonicbid electronic press kit.
