Tru Bloo is a Lebanese-Armenian hip hop-poetry fusion emcee, percussionist, composer, cultural and justice worker who was born in Pittsburgh, PA, raised in Las Vegas, NV and is currently based in Oakland, CA. Music and writing have always been a part of Tru's life. They had the opportunity to play classical piano via the Suzuki method at age 6, transitioned into percussion & drumming at age 13, and studied classical guitar and music theory as a young adolescent. Bloo first wrote & performed hip hop at a school assembly at age 11, won poetry slams at age 15 and started rhyming in law school at age 22.

In 2003, Tru started spitting rhymes at law school conferences like Progressive Lawyering Day at USF and continued to perform solo until December 2004, when they met Bennu in preparation for a fundraiser for Helem, an LGBT center located in Beirut, Lebanon. From 2005-2008, Tru and Bennu headed bills as the hip hop duo NaR, meaning "fire" in Arabic and performed from West to East Coast in places like Vancouver, BC (Under the Volcano Festival 2007) to New York, NY (PeaceOUT Festival 2006) to Oakland, CA (HomoHop 2005). In 2008, they toured the Southwestern U.S. with Mangos with Chili. In 2009, life took them different places and Tru started rocking the mic solo again and collaborating with artist Wanda Kruda, formerly of Las Krudas Cubensi. That same year, Tru debuted in Atlanta, GA at the Mondohomo Festival. In 2010, they ended up on stages internationally from San Francisco, CA for the Harvey Milk Institute's 32nd Anniversary Dinner with keynote speaker Angela Davis to Detroit, MI for the U.S. Social Forum to Stockholm, Sweden for Fi Taharrok and even Beirut, Lebanon. In 2011, Tru & Wanda Kruda again had the honor to be the opening act for Angela Davis' induction into La Pena Cultural Center's Hall of Fame. In 2012, they rocked Fabulosa Fest in Petaluma, CA and just wrapped up a life-changing event called Mama Said Knock You Out II, put on by Mamas of Color Rising and UT Austin, TX.

In 2013, Tru Bloos messages of self-empowerment & collective unity are a timely "fresh breath" from the countless interpersonal, political and socioeconomic issues we face today! Musically, Trus bangin' beats and flawless flows have left jaws on floors internationally!! They grab the mic with skill, wisdom, and a West Coast flavor, paying tribute to their musical influences in.... old school hip hop, jazz, blues, funk, latin & arabic stylez!
