Bio

We started The Red Admirals in early 2006 after a few years of being in other bands. We each had been playing music since we left school in 2002 and with a few line up changes and tweaks in sound we finally settled on the line up we currently have, and have been working extremely hard on new material since the start of this year. As a three piece band we obviously dont have the benefits that a fourth or fifth member would bring, but this is exactly how we like it. If we were a four or five piece band our sound would be completely different, and it would clutter up our sharp upbeat sound. The chemistry between the three of us when we play is undeniable and we are getting better with every gig. We truly believe that we are a great band with a point to prove. We have spent a lot of years listening to and learning from other local bands and feel we now have what it takes to outdo every single one of them. On record we try to recreate our live sound as best as we can because we feel that our songs should sound the same and as powerful as when we play them live. Our influences range from modern mainstream indie music like Kings of Leon, Interpol, Stereophonics and Editors to more poppier music and older bands such as The Doors, Pink Floyd and The Kinks. "The Red Admirals are another great band from Northern Ireand who have a decent knack for writing big pop hooks, we like them a lot on this programme"- rigsy, presenter of BBC Radio Ulster's Across the line show.
