The Red Admirals

The Red Admirals have made a name for themselves on the local circuit as the band for the people. They write songs about love and loss, drugs and mugs, and just, well, life in general. Every show they play is a celebration, a celebration of what is good about modern guitar music, how one earnestly strummed chord can fill a room of people with joy. On record these boys are no slouches either, they are constantly churning out new material and have released three critically acclaimed extended players since the bands conception in late 2006. Sounding like a band with many influences The Red Admirals have definately put their own stamp on their music. They often namecheck manchester as a main source of musical inspiration, with bands such as Oasis, The Charlatans and Elbow being band favourites. Other older bands such as The Doors, Pink Floyd and the Rolling Stones are also regularly listened to by the lads. The band have enjoyed a healthy play rotation on local radio stations with their songs and hope to continue this trend in the hope of building their fanbase even more. Radio stations such as COOL FM, RADIO ULSTER, RADIO 1 and DOWN FM have all gave The Red Admirals the airtime their songs deserve. The bands main goal is to build a solid fanbase and work from there, and with so many gigs already under their belt they are indeed a must see local act in Belfast. Eveybody likes a drink, Right?! Of course they do. The bands latest musical offering entitled "IMBIBING EMPORIUM" is a celebration of this favourite pastime. When coming up with a title for the new E.P the lads felt this suited and sounded right. It fits in nicely with the thumping title track "THE PARTY" and slides along with the heartfelt strains of "A LOT LIKE ME". The final track on the E.P is "BETTER THAN YOU" which belts along like a rock n' roll circus in a phonebox, is a true live favorite too.
