The Redd Baron

Eric "The Redd Baron" Jones, aka "Mr. Universe":

Born and raised in San Jose,Ca, but now residing in Tracy,Ca. Growing up wasnt easy, being a only child with only 1 parent at home, but a young Eric used Music as his pacifier to the stress or issues it came with. Always successful in such school subjects involving literature, reading & writing,and poetry, he had a good sense of the structure for writing his own lyrics. At first he was more so a fan of R&B and barely Hip-Hop as a preteen. But he grew more interested in Rap when his older cousins did their run in high-school and early college years. He saw that its possible to do what he hears on radio & TV and that inspired him. He started writing lyrics to song concepts, entering talent shows, open mics, and even competing in online battles as far back as 1999 on Yahoo!'s forums. But it didnt end there, he began to research more about the history of hip-hop and its industry; also learning from peers mistakes and successes he gained an overall solid business-minded aspect to his belt. In the summer of 1999 he created a group called "Redd Ink" later to be called Redd Ink Productions; based from San Jose, and originally staring with only himself and 2 other artists, they sought to separate themselves from the norm of music in the area. Eric created R.I.P. at first only so he could save money on studio and paying producers for instrumentals, but then it became more when he gained notice from his beats and musical savvy. Over te years since,RIP has expanded its size and dropped few artists also. Redd Ink now specializes in music production, managing musicians, promotion,etc.etc. Eric stil proceeds to do his solo thing though working on his next cd entitled "Code Redd" which is going to be his first album released in stores under his label.
