"Absolute Power Pop"

Brevity may be the soul of wit, but it's also a virtue of good power pop discs. Clocking in at 29 minutes over 10 tracks, Chicago's The Redfords don't waste your time in getting down to the business of delivering high-energy, modern power pop. Fans of Weezer, Rooney and others of their ilk will love this disc; titles like "Junk Food Mafia", "Heart Attack" and "Tattoo" are going to be more descriptive of their tunes that I can be. And even the obligatory power ballad ("So Strange") is pretty good. Robert would be proud. - Absolute Power Pop

"International Pop Overthrow"

Thev’ve moved from the classic powerpop stylings of their debut CD, Miracle at Sunrise, to a more mature, indie pop sound on their latest EP, Come Alive At The Moment. Their chops and versatility has been recognized in another industry, as their music will have appeared in the new movie The Circle. - International Pop Overthrow

Still working on that hot first release.

The Redfords started as a studio project by John Gidlund some time in 2007. Teaming up with producer Greg Magers from The Attic Recording Gidlund recorded the first Redfords album entitled Miracle At Sunrise (Released 1/12/2008). Gidlund enlisted the help of the very talented drummer Jonathan Marks from Hey Champ to lay down the drums on the album.

In 2010 Gidlund teamed up with long time friends Shaun Sutherland, John Schoenberg, and Jason Smith to form what is now The Redfords. Together they recorded the latest EP entitled Come Alive In The Moment (Released 10/18/2011) and made the transition from Power Pop to more of an Indie Pop sound.

Recently music by The Redfords was featured in the movie entitled "The Circle", release date April 7th, 2012. This is the latest project by the Award Winning Cooked Goose Productions.

The Redfords have received plays on Q101, 93.1 WXRT, 89.1 WONC, and Fearless Radio local showcases.

Along with the radio spots, The Redfords have played some high profile shows in Chicago like the Elbo Room, Subterranean, and Goose Island. The Redfords were also a part of International Pop Overthrow in 2012.
