The Red Jets are a young Ottawa pop/rock trio that has been electrifying audiences all over the city for the last 4 years. Originally, siblings Renato and Amanda began by rocking the 2004 Super Ex nightly as a White-Stripesque duo. Then the addition of bassist Dan Costanzo, injected a thumping rumble to a repertoire of new and classic rock covers from bands like The Killers, The Dandy Warhols and The Beatles to name a few. Although still teenagers, their extremely tight vocal harmonies, synchronized rhythms and superb musical skill made them very popular at a number of Ottawas festival and fundraiser venues. Soon after this teen cover band began writing their own material. The Red Jets found themselves opening for some of Canadas legendary bands, such as Trooper, The Northern Pikes and April Wine . Their original material secured them a spot as round finalists and money winners in the 2007 edition of the Live 88.5 Big Money Shot; a remarkable achievement for such a young band..
Renato, 20, Dan, 20, and Amanda, 23, have released their own 6 song EP as independents of the Ottawa music scene, which has already received airplay nationally on CBC Radio 1 and locally on Live 885. The group has already began writing and performing new material to be featured on their next album.
