Bio

The Red Peace is a popular indie rock band located in the heart of Downtown Chicago. They combine acoustic guitar with roaring electric, a tight rhythm section that isn't afraid to step out occasionally with solos and melodies, and improvisation with technical chops.

Most of the time, bands will compare themselves to a prominant artist in order to describe themselves. This band, however, is unable to do that. Listeners to their album and viewers of their high energy live shows have given them comparisons as diverse as The Red Hot Chili Peppers to legendary bluesman Magic Sam, generation spanners like The Beatles to current trendsetters such as The Strokes and The Decemberists. Each song is a different idea, a different feeling, and Cameron Mitchell's heartfelt vocals soar above the wall of sound created by the interplay between four very talented musicians.

The Red Peace self-released the Feels Like Rain...EP in June 2006, and it has been met with considerable local interest. Since then, they have been active on the Chicago music circuit, playing at everything from independent movie premieres to clubs.

Recently, The Red Peace released their follow-up EP, Trust But Verify in April 2007. During this time, they have added several stars to their already impressive resume, including a headlining slot at Chicago's Elbo Room and wins at both the Northside and Walter Payton Battles of the Bands in back to back weeks. These two wins are made even more impressive when considering the first was judged and the other was voted on by the audience, showing The Red Peace's ability to appeal to critics and fans alike.
