Bio

The Remnant Kings are an Edinburgh indie blues band who have created an energetic, intense, melodic brand of blues infused indie Rock ‘n’ Roll all of their own. With high tempo tunes, a tight rhythm section, intelligent guitar work, frantic electric violin and searing, biting vocals delivering honest, passionate and often scathing, witty lyrics wrapped within catchy melodies and unforgettable choruses, The Remnant Kings are one of Scotland’s most exciting bands.

Their influences are eclectic, with the band having grown up listening to everything from Chuck Berry, Elvis Costello, Cream and Hendrix to Ryan Adams, The Smiths, Radiohead, Supergrass, The Libertines, Muse and many more. The result is their own sound of emotive, stick-in-the-head tunes which will have you singing along for days after each listen.

Their intense live shows have accrued a strong, ever growing, loyal fan base that have seen them hold their own whilst playing alongside acts such as The Happy Mondays, Jack Penate, The Invisible, White Denim, Band of Skulls, The Law, We Were Promised Jetpacks, The Hedrons, , Future Islands, Wheatus, Tiny Tempah and Popup plus a recent slot as headliners of a storming night at Liverpool Music Week. Having impressed fans both north and south of the border, people are taking notice of their stunning live shows.

A new EP has just been cut, and you can also hear some older tracks at: www.myspace.com/theremnantkings or www.facebook.com/theremnantkings.

Reviews:
“With their guitarist digging into his bag of tricks, and their singer so intense that at one point I fear he will combust… thankfully, he doesn’t and I am left thinking this band should be playing to huge crowds’ – musosguide.com

'Lead vocalist Rich's earnest, stirring vocals lend the band a distinctly soulful sound, while bluesy guitars, crashing drums, and harmonies characterize the band's tunes.'

‘Their passion shines through and their effort onstage has the crowd buzzing’ – EdinburghMusicScene.com

’Great, straight up British Rock n Roll’ – Russell, The Fire Engines

’There is so much going on its like Chorley fm "Coming in your ears”, hard hitting but with quality not the usual messy pish you hear, nice guitar work cutting in half way through, ‘More Than I Could Tell’ makes you wish you had the skills, amazing stuff! The chorus makes you go back and listen again and again. Great ending to this track as well and it will leave the crowd with a decent memory of the talents of these guys and possibly even long enough to get a sing along going! Great pure rock offering with a bit of thought put into the lyrics giving them a definite edge on the pack. – Vinylpuppet.com
