Bio

Hey!

I'm Theresa.

A lot of times I don't know where to start. Now is one of those times... So I'll just go for it.

I grew up on a raisin farm in Califoria. I played a lot of volleyball. A LOT of volleyball. It took my to Brooklyn, NY where I learned how spoiled I was to live on a farm where you get to see constant growth and rebirth all year long.

I love Brooklyn and I learned a lot living there. There's a saying, "Live in NYC until it makes you hard, live in Northern California until it makes you soft." Living in NYC taught me to grow a little thicker skin and gave me the confidence to be who I am and to not apologize for it. After 7 years I felt my heart hardening a bit, and decided it was time for a change.

So I moved to Nashville! I'd been here once for a day, and for some reason, 2 years later,  felt I had to come here...and I'm so glad I did. I love Nashville. I love the South. It's a beautiful place.

So now that you know where I've lived, you should probably know why I do music...

There's just something about a song.  Everytime I hear, "Tim McGraw" by Taylor Swift, I can see exactly where I was, 17 year old me, driving down Adams ave in Fowler, CA. I can see the senior parking lot where we danced on the back of Clifford the Big Red Truck everytime I hear "Sexy Back" by JT. I remember dancing in my dorm room with my best friend everytime "We Found Love" comes on. It's not just that I remember doing those things, when I hear those songs I can feel what I felt then. I remember how the smile on my face felt. I remember the smile on my friends faces. Then there's always the song you blast after a break up. No matter how many years have past or how much you don't think about him anymore, that song still tugs at your heart the same way it did the day after the break up when you were sitting on your bed feeling numb.

If I can connect that strongly to other people through a simple, honest song...that's all I can ask for. It's the reason I do music. If I can take you away from your reality, and give you a break from everything, to feel something different, if only for 3 min and 30 sec...there could be nothing more special to me.

I hope to see you at one of my shows.

Have a nice day! :)
