"Ex'pression College of Digital Arts says"

"The music Theresa Perez makes is funky, soulful, and richly vocal. It gives you the sense that every word is sung with a smile, alternately sultry, mischievous, playful, and contemplative. While she has catchy hooks, her eclectic sensibility keeps her from falling into pop convention. It's rare that someone so talented is also so down to earth, and working with Theresa has been a joy for everyone who has worked with her here at Ex'pression College." - Jafar Thorne

- Les Nubians

A one-word description of Theresa Perez is “multifaceted.” This young artist is as versatile on stage as she is in the studio and in her musical expression. After receiving her B.M. from the Berklee College of Music, Theresa moved to the west coast, where she has been writing new music and working with local legends such as Michael Franti, Brett Dennan, The Attik and Aya DeLeon. From singing and playing the guitar to roaring on the piano or becoming lost on the rhythm of the drum, her stage presence captures you and invites you in to the mystery of spontaneous creativity. She has also co-written and co-produced the soundtrack for "Aya: Definition" with Bay Area artist, Matt Price. Pick a genre – from Hip Hop to Samba to Gospel - and it is likely this performer has fused it into one of her original compositions, lyrics or beat boxes. She has already written and produced her own album and 2 others from past band experiences with another on the way. Her comfort in the studio is extraordinary, and her willingness to learn from her elders is inexhaustible. Venture into her world – it is a unique offering that will leave you in bliss and peace, excitement and enthusiasm for life…
