i play music and live in a tiny cabin in the northwestern wisconsin woods, by lake superior. i use a generator to power my amp and charge my laptop batteries. i've been playing music off and on since i was a little kid. did some solo acoustic guitar stuff before i was twenty. i played in several obscure minneapolis bands in the 80's i'm fifty years old and started playing and writing new stuff in 2004 after a long long break. my influences? well, keith richards is the riffmaker--the stones still rule. i listen to tori amos, james taylor, tenacious d, eminim, captain beefheart, johann sebastian bach, dexter gordon, steve vai, neil young and the drive by truckers. van halen was the best before they dumped david lee roth. i learned to jam listening to the allman brothers band live at fillmore. i've been on this planet for a few years and i've been paying attention. i think most of my songs are sort of goofy. i thought i was done with music fifteen years ago. never had the heart to sell my favorite guitar -- a 1983 fender bullet and picked it up last spring again and began playing four or five hours a day up here in the woods and then a bunch of new tunes showed up. imagine that.
