Bio

Rock and Roll 4-piece band The Reserve formed in 2011 after first coming together as friends who occasionally played music together. The band is comprised of Jon Babin (vocalist and guitarist), Jon Birchfield (guitarist) and Kyle Biba (drummer).
Hailing from other Chicago-based bands, such as My Big Beautiful, Internal Divine, and the Babin Brothers, the members of The Reserve are ready for bigger and better things. “When we play together it all comes together naturally. It’s kind of like a Zen moment. It just clicks,” said drummer Kyle Biba. Indeed the fusion of the four sounds as good as it feels to the members.
Vocalist and guitarist Jon Babin provides lyrical and guitar inspiration for The Reserve, which comes from his background as a singer/songwriter. Influenced by the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Oasis, Jane's Addiction, and more, he fuels energy into the band. Aside from playing with The Reserve, Babin also plays alongside his brother Sam Babin in the brother’s band, The Babin Brothers.
Guitarist Jon Birchfield adds a unique level of professionalism to the band after studying music theory, music business, music production and recording from both Columbia College Chicago and Southern Illinois University. Jon comes from popular pop-punk outfit My Big Beautiful and has shared the stage with The Smoking Popes and Alkaline Trio’s ex-drummer, Mike Felumlee. Aside from playing guitar for The Reserve, he also runs his own recording studio and production company called Biscuit Productions.
Drummer Kyle Biba drives the band to new heights and is hungry for more. In the wake of his previous work, Chicago bands Kastasyde and Internal Divine, Biba happily pours himself into The Reserve. Coming from a musical family and has a background of years of drum lessons. In 2011, he attended California’s Musician’s Institute taking lessons from some of today’s top musicians and became certified in percussion.
This group is driven on pure talent, experience and belief. A dripping grungy, rock feel is the backdrop for lyrics that go straight for the jugular. Fusing motivation with the sounds of bands like Queens of the Stone Age, Sebadoh, Hot Snakes, Nirvana and Weezer, the boys of The Reserve are poised and ready to make their mark on the music scene.
Newest tracks Chuck, Slide and white Lines recorded by Jon Birchfield and mixed/mastered by Charles Macak of Electrowerks Music Production, infuse passion and impeccable musicianship. The Reserve successfully take sounds of passion, love, anger and dedication to the listener. More tracks and shows are to come!
