There She Goes Again

There She Goes Again started in Fitzroy, Melbourne, in the winter of 2005. Italian born Lisa Camillo, arrived to Australia with the hopes and dreams to start a revolutionary band. In Melbourne she met her Australian cousin Jessica Crema and they decided to start a band together. In the early stages of the band’s lifespan, Ian Wasworth was drumming with There She Goes Again, influencing the band with his post-punk sound. During 2006, many events occurred that shaped the band forever. Jessica, went to New York for a couple of months, where she was inspired by the city’s unique underground sound. While she was there, Lisa ventured to India to learn the mystique Indian sitar and absorb the many flavours and colours of the local music. Due to these two different musical experiences, they had their mind set to change the core sound of the band. Back in Melbourne at the rehearsal studio, the girls met a young musician, Brigitte Hart, that ended up to join the band for the following year. A Yogoslavi-born drummer, Aleks De Ath, joined the band in September 2007, recording with the girls a new ep, ’Follow the Raven’, set to be released in March/April ’08. Jamie Power a talented kiwi drummer, was TSGA’s last addition, bringing the band to a new dimention. Today the band’s sonority is best described as elegantly raw and moody, with a charmingly off-beat indie sound, soulful lyrics backed-up, with biting guitar riffs, and accompanied by 60s-inspired beats and rhythms. Inspired heavily by 60’s & 70’s rock, the 90’s Riot Grrrl movement and iconic individuals, such as Patti Smith, Janis Joplin, PJ Harvey, Jimmi Hendrix and Velvet Underground, There She Goes Again’ have been accosting the Melbourne music scene in various forms since November of 2005. They played in all Melbourne’s most prestigious music venues, such as The Hi-Fi Bar, The Gershwin Room at the Espy, Ding Dong, Pony, the iconic Tote, Rob Roy, Spanish Club and many more. They were recently short-listed from 7.000 bands across Aus, to play at the MTV- Kick Start your Career Competition’s finals, and they were broadcasted on MTV’s tv channel. In July ’07, TSGA toured Italy and in February/March ’08 they toured for three weeks New Zealand. After TSGA’s New Zealand tour, the band is touring the USA in June ‘08, followed by Berlin, Germany.
