Biography

If there's one word that describes our music, it's balance. We can be complex and sophisticated, or straightforward and edgy. Our music is a direct reflection of the personalities in the band. On some occasions we've been called a bunch of humble, soft-hearted individuals who in contrast love to rock it out!

The band in itself is also well balanced when it comes to culture and gender. Helen and I are both Filipino-Americans, whereas Gretchen and Ian are both European- Americans. I personally believe that music is a powerful gift that can connect deeply with someone on a spiritual level, as it also brings people together of all walks of life.

The band members met initially as friends going to a music school or conservatory to perfect our skills. Ian and myself are graduates of Musicians Institute of Hollywood California, and I met Helen and Gretchen at the Shoreline CC Music Department.

Some of our influences are but not limited to The Cranberries, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin and Muse. As much as we love our influences, we always try our best to be ourselves when performing, play to the best of our abilities and to entertain!

Sincerely,
Julando Samson

Some of our awards and achievements include;

Lyrics

Peacemaker

Written By: The Resistanse

Held to a promise in a conversation
drive the invaders of our land
A higher nation built on lies and bloodshed
she'd bring the same within our sanctuary

The purity of our restoration
is it tainted by the outsiders
in our institution of higher learning
examinations completed by the barrel of her gun

ohh its what she wants

Chorus: And in my head I wanna play peacemaker
An' pass the pipe for all I hold dear
but in the end I'll have to play Rainmaker
and down the flames of her fear

Ohh... Ohhh...

Ten generations what was lost and hiding
now has become a mine unsurfaced
held to the point were I must end the story
not our story but her madness

Chorus

Resistance

Written By: The Resistanse

Load up the guns the battle begins, limit the fear of dying and you'll win
Tortured souls are lying in wait, hidden agendas made them their slaves
tear up the tracks in front of the train, forcing a stop prepare for the raid
communication breakdown we'll raise, take out the guards before its too late

War Machine on the move
we'll break it down by the will of our resistance

Evil minds controlling the chain, riveting the shackles in our souls
slip away were gonna break free, prefer to live and die on out feet yeah
slivers of metal speed through the air, spinning away through blood and skin
plans for extermination derailed, into the darkness we disappear

War Machine on the move
pulled by the strings of the secret society
luxuries for the few
slavery for the doomed
War machine on the move
we'll break it down by the strength of our will
unite in resistance!

Tear up the tracks in front of the train
forcing a stop prepare for the raid
plans for extermination derailed
into the darkness we disappear
searching for the final truth
the architects are revealed

War machine on the move
pulled by the strings of the secret society
luxuries for the few
slavery for the doomed
War machine on the move
pulled by the strings of the secret society
luxuries for the few
well break it down by the strength of our will
unite in resistance

Queen Of Angels (The Dream)

Written By: The Resistanse

Once again traveling down this winding road
and it doesn't seem the prize is very near
yet everyday as I've come to realize
that the prize that I've been searching for was you

So live to die today
for this bliss
I'll help you find your way

I hear the queen of angels sending for me
for the trouble of the wonders of what could be
though a lifetime of lamenting hinders me
now I know not what I know nor what I see

When your free of all the pain but the memories still still remain
while collecting all the images of the good
The the confusion of the day starts to send you on your way
As you've found all that you have misunderstood

So live to die today
for this bliss
I'll help you find your way....

Swept Away

Written By: The Resistanse

Do my eyes deceive me oh does it make sense
as this breath signifies life
Only hand in hand shall we ever succeed
as it shall until the end

Life without fear
now that your here
I'll never let go
whispered---"I'll never let go"

Through you smile oh what a dream my oasis of bliss
oh I can swim and do anything
Hold you higher than the sky as I take you
and caress your lips, like a heavenly kiss

Life without fear
now that you here
I'll sweep you away
up above oh I'll steal your pain

Awake in a garden looking for the horizon
from a place I never thought I could be
An with you by my side I am able to fly
all because of the way you touch me

I have finally found you!

Life without fear
now that your here
I'll sweep you away

Life without fear
now that your here

Do my eyes deceive me, oh does it make sense
as this breath signifies life
only hand in hand shall we ever succeed
as it shall until the end
