"The world needs to hear Jesse"

I just wanted to give a shout to Jesse and anyone out there that listens to his music. We have a tight-nit family of musicians cultivating from the north shore of Boston and beyond, and Jesse is at the center of that family. He's a master songwriter, a killer musician, and an amazing human being. Props to anyone out there who's in the know.
- Ryan Montbleau

"Stacia Russel"

“Jesse’s singing ability is an intensely varied collage of smooth mellowness and high reaching pitches that make you hold your breathe.” - North Shore College Weekly

Bio

Boston based group The Resonance consists of Mike Miksis on bass, Dennis Monagle on drums and backing vocals, and Jesse Ciarmataro on guitar, piano, and vocals. They have been compared to bands such as The Police, Ben Folds Five, and Ben Harper. The Resonance is a high energy trio with a very dynamic range fusing roots rock, and soul.

Vocals, Piano, and Guitar Jesse Ciarmataro

Growing up in a family of artists and musicians, Jesse Ciarmataro was exposed to creativity at an early age. His mother, a prolific artist, supported his musical endeavors. While his godfather who lead Boston based group The Vinny Band in the mid 70s and 80s took Jesse along into the club circuit and introduced him to the energy of live performance.

Jesses sultry voice and thought provoking lyrics combined with his gifted songwriting skills create his unique sound. His songwriting ability was recognized in 2002 when he was awarded the grand prize in the Jazz category in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Jesse has successfully established himself playing bass for The Ryan Montbleau Band and touring extensively and supporting such notable acts as Ben Folds, Guster, The Violent Femmes, The Samples, Howie Day, and the legendary Richie Havens.

To say the least Jesse is an accomplished singer/ songwriter to the core, performing to crowds from 2,000 or 2 it is always with passion and honesty that is as transparent as his songs themselves. With the formation of The Resonance, Jesse has no intention of slowing down his consistent touring and gaining fans in every city he pours his heart out into.

Drums and vocals Dennis Monagle

Dennis is the drummer and second vocalist of The Resonance. Despite his dedication to studying piano for more than a decade when he was young, he soon realized his true love was percussion. He watched his dad play the skins in the basement of their home growing up, and eventually picked up his own pair of sticks.

Performing nation wide and recording with a handful of local bands including Mamadech, Groove Therapy, and Brother Chameleon, Dennis found his way to Jesse and Michael and soon after the Resonance was born.

D" takes musical cues from drummers and all musicians alike, including Stuart Copeland, Billy Martin, and Dennis Chambers. Further influences include Jeff Buckley, Steely Dan, Bjork, and local drum- maestro, Benny Benson.

With such great players as Ciarmataro and Miksis, Monagle hopes to challenge himself both musically, and creatively to round out the sound of The Resonance.....

Bass - Michael Miksis

Bassist, Michael Miksis, has been playing for over ten years. A self-taught teenager, Michael decided to further his education at Berklee College of Music where he acquired a bachelors degree in bass performance.

Well versed in many styles, Michael has toured the country east to west and performed with groups such as Brotherhood of Groove (Brandon Tarricone, Sam Kinninger, Michael Ray); Blue Light Special (Warren Hood, Tony Price, Lyle Lovett); Chip Taylor; Boston Horns (Henley Douglas Jr., Garret Savluk) and a wicked lot of others.dude.
, John Zorn, Stevie Wonder.

Being a part of a close-knit family of musicians on the North Shore, it wasnt long before he was introduced to Dennis and Jesse. Soon thereafter the fairytale began.

Through his education and experience, Michael has been able to bring his voice to The Resonance while still laying down a solid foundation for the music. The music of the Resonance has become an ideal vehicle for Michael to freely express himself as a bassist.

Their debut album "Easier Said Than Done" was released this January 2006 and is now available at cdbaby.com
