Biography

In 2003, THE ROLLING STONES selected The Respectables for their opening act at The Bell Centre in Montreal during their LICKS WORLD TOUR. National and international press coverage followed that incredible night.

They have just finished mixing 8 hot new tracks down at WILLIE NELSON'S PEDERNALES STUDIOS in Texas. They are ready to Rock n’Roll like never before!

THE RESPECTABLES: 15 years in the making...

Returning home from a long back-packing trip across Europe and The U.S. , guitar player and singer Sebastian Plant called up his old high school band ''MOONLIGHT DRIVE" partner Pascal Dufour. The two hooked up along with another former high school buddy Dusso and the three began writing the songs that would become their first independent album ''No Dogs, No Bands''. They named themselves ''THE RESPECTABLES'' (an old French expression for prostitutes!) Bodean filled the vacant seat behind their drumkit and the boys were now ready for their new life on the road.

The Respectables toured Canada and parts of the U.S. for some years, and in 1999, made a surprise turn to French. They made 3 great french rock records between 1999 and 2005; one of them certified GOLD while the two others topped the charts in Eastern Canada and won them several awards including BAND OF THE YEAR at The Quebec Music Awards 2 years in a row in early 2000. Since then, The Respectables have had 25 top chart hits on French radios.

In 2006, The Respectables released a live album after their sold-out show at The Bell Center in Montreal. The year after, followed a DVD certified Canadian GOLD after only two weeks. They are now ready to conquer a new market as they are finishing their latest english record.

Sweet Mama

Written By: Sebastian Plant

I left my home up in Canada
And headed down south to see the Mardi Gras
I met a Louisiana Queen in some faded jeans
She showed me how they do it down in New Orleans

She had a Jesus statue in her motor home
A lady “comme ça” I had never known
I couldn’t be a saint but she came marchin’ in
With those faded blue jeans said: “Let the Joy Begin”

She was a sweet mama not a rollin’ stone
I guess she didn’t want to be alone
Lookin’ for a man to call her own
But she couldn’t get Jesus on the telephone

We skipped the Jambalaya and the Carnival
I forgot about my woman back in Montreal
Cause she blew my mind like a hurricane
And soaked me down like the Louisiana rain

She was a sweet mama not a rollin’ stone
I guess she didn’t want to be alone
Lookin’ for a man to call her own
But she couldn’t get Jesus on the telephone

We let the good times roll as the band played on
Just one more song and I had to be gone
Oh! Such a night

Now I’m back in cold Canada
Just a young man dreaming ‘bout the Mardi Gras
But I know what it means to Miss New Orleans
And that God fearing woman with the faded jeans

She was a sweet mama not a rollin’ stone
I guess she didn’t want to be alone
Lookin’ for a man to call her own
But she couldn’t get Jesus on the telephone

Tell Me Who

Written By: Sebastian Plant

How long baby, how long
Have you been in love?
How long baby, how long
Since you were thinking of
Me and you together, I know it was hard
Tell me that you’re happy and I’ll fold up my cards
How long baby, how long
Have you been in love?

I just need a little understanding
Please forgive me if I’m too demanding

Tell me who is loving you the way I used to do?
Tell me who is loving you the way I used to do?

How long baby, how long
Have you been friends? (We’re just talkin, now I don’t mean to pry)
How long baby, how long
Were you going to pretend? (Now cross your heart and swear to die)
I’m not ashamed to say I’m under your hex and I’m
Not the only fella still hot for his ex
So how long, baby how long
Have you two been friends?

Don’t refuse me just because we’ve parted
Have some mercy on the broken hearted

Tell me who is loving you the way I used to do?
Tell me who is loving you the way I used to do?

I’m havin’ trouble movin’ on baby
I know you love him and it drives me crazy
We were so close so please be kind
And help me get you outta my trouble mind

Got More Than I Wanted from Honky Tonkin' and Rock n'Roll

Written By: Sebastian Plant

First time that I met her
I was only seventeen
Short skirt, tight sweater
Yes, she looked like a honky tonk queen

She touched me on my shoulder
And that blew my mind
As we danced she got bolder
And we started to grind a slow grind

And I got more than I wanted from Honky Tonkin
Got just what I needed from Rock & Roll
When she’s on the floor
My head’s in the ceiling
Got me where you want me darling don’t cha let me go?

Her kiss was explosive
And we wasted no time
She gave me the motive
And we committed the perfect crime

Now I’m a little older
But it weighs on my mind
I wish a “told her”
Just how she did me with a slow, slow grind

And I got more than I wanted from Honky Tonkin
Got just what I needed from Rock & Roll
When she’s on the floor
My head’s in the ceiling
Got me where you want me darling don’t cha let me go?

And I got more than I wanted from Honky Tonkin
Got just what I needed from Rock & Roll
I’m itching and scratching
Got me hooked on a feeling
Got me where you want me
Now don’t you let me go?

Cause my head starts to reeling
When I see you do the stroll
Come on and do the stroll

Now I gotta find her, that’s what I’m gonna do
Got to remind her, that’s what I’m gonna do
Said I gotta find her, that’s what I’m gonna do
She’s a low down grinder and I got…

Got more than I wanted from Honky Tonkin
Got just what I needed from Rock & Roll
When she’s on the floor
My head’s in the ceiling
Got me where you want me darling don’t cha let me go?
Got more than I wanted from Honky Tonkin
Got just what I needed from Rock & Roll
I didn’t see it coming now I’m bruised and I’m bleeding
And I love you darling, don’t let me go
