"Well wishes from Libby"

Hi Rog, have a great show tonight! I wish I could be there but I am too swamped. I eagerly await the time I can make it to a gig as "every one is raving about the band". Thinking of you all !

Roger, well what a night ! Many thanks for that.

"THE RETROSONICS @ Jazz Fremantle"

On 20th April 2008 vocalist Alida Wright and Roger Garrood (alto sax) presented the debut of the eleven piece group THE RETROSONICS. With arrangements by Roger, the band had a tight ensemble and many fine soloist’s including Mike Nelson (keyboards), Callum G’Froerer and Ricki Mallet (trumpets), Mace Francis (guitar) and Roger Garrood (alto sax).
The band played many blues drenched numbers to the pleasure of an appreciative audience.
This outfit should have no trouble in finding opportunities to display their many talents.

Bio

Emerging band The Retrosonics is well into it's second year of public performance and every gig is greeted with enthusiastic support from fans and promoters.
Created to 'fill a hole' that was perceived to exist on the Perth (WA) music scene the intent was to create a soul, blues, boogie, funk band that would be suitable for Blues/Jazz clubs and indoor/outdoor music festivals. A largish horn section was chosen so as to give arrangers scope for experimenting and the musical direction is ever expanding with constant regard to musicians loving to improvise.
First goal was to get the band up and running with a 'working library. Second goal is to write original songs/tunes so that a CD can be produced.
The first goal has been achieved, the second goal is well under way with no deadline set for production as yet.
