The Reverse began with Nathan and Jason, growing out of pub conversations, late night recording sessions and the cold rehearsal rooms of Crouch End. Sam began engineering for the band, though his involvement soon progressed, as he took on permanent guitar duties. Joe ran a fanzine and when they sent him a rough demo, instead of writing about it, his enthusiasm led to him pick up the bass guitar and join them.
With this line up in place The Reverse released three EPs. Their Debut EP, A Clean Incision was released in 2006 on indie label Run Out. The follow up, Shutterspeed came out in 2007 and the last, My Lifelong Psychological Experiment in 2008. All EPs were recorded and mixed by Graham Dominy (The Rifles, Razorlight, Ray Davies, Supergrass).
Joe found the love of his life and set sail for America.
The band regrouped and with the addition of new bass player & backing vocalist, (ex lead-singer of The Great Divide & The Colours) James Mckeown, they wrote new material and developed their sound.
This new line up has just completed their debut album, which is finally set for release in 2013!
The band have performed alongside bands including Klaxons, The Wave Pictures, Lupen Crook, Sgt Buzfuz, Wallis Bird and Carina Round and have had plays on BBC6 Music, XFM, Resonance Fm and Xtreme East Radio.
The bands lead singer performs solo as Nat the Hammer and runs and hosts the monthly acoustic night Under The Influence at The Boogaloo in North London.
The guitarist and bass player also perform as solo artists Kit Sam Kirr and James McKeown.
Come and see your "new" favourite "old" band at their first show of 2013 April 17th at The Buffalo Bar!
