Fast, catchy, melodic Chicago Punk Rock

Biography

The Revision Plan is a 3 piece punk rock band hailing from the Chicagoland area. With only 2 years under their belt, these punkers have been playing shows all over the Chicagoland area and have shared the stage with some great Chicago bands including Counterpunch, Rule 22, and She Likes Todd. The band's style of fast melodic punk rock, remniscent of The Swellers and Much The Same, makes for an energetic live show on stage and in the crowd.

Lyrics

Tentative Precision

Written By: The Revision Plan

The sun sets and I’m watching this light fade away
Trying to retrace my steps along this winding pathway
Forgiveness is a memory I’m trying to reclaim
I cannot find you, it’s been weeks since you’ve been led astray

The last time I looked up at the sky the brightest star was missing
Every instance flying through my head like ancient history
You’ve sought out what you’ll never find, the truth lies vaguely near
Life is shouting at you friend, but now you’ve covered up your ears

*The pieces fit, but they’ve been shattered on the ground
I lost myself and you cannot be found
Time goes on with or without us following
Fall behind and you’ll find regret shadowing

A descent into this hole, I’m falling faster now
Rock bottom will not show itself, no hope of getting out
You’re voice still echoes through my bones, I’m trembling
These shakes aren’t from the bitter cold, now I’m remembering*

A failure in this waiting game, impatient state of mind
My mind is running circles, trips and falls time after time
You’re silence remains unbroken, and you’re safe from my words here
Life is shouting at you friend, won’t you uncover your ears

Navigations

Written By: The Revision Plan

Outside looking in on what I’ve pushed down for so long
You pushed me down onto the ground where I once stood so strong
I’ve settled for unequal longing for that better day
But I’ll just wait it out
Because I know I’m just waiting for nothing
I’m just a victim in this blaming game
Sick and tired of living with no place to go
And being stuck out in the cold

*Some say this life’s not cut out for the weak
You’ve got to stand and live these days, you’ve got to be who you will be
And I’d say this life’s a navigation through
A path that leads to a better life that lies ahead of you

Ashes scatter as they keep on falling from the sky
Illusions cover up the remnants you have left behind
But I can see right through you and the lies you live each day
But I’ll keep quiet now
Because I know I’m just waiting for nothing
I’m just a victim in this blaming game
Sick and tired of living with no place to go
And being stuck out in the cold*

New Eternity

Written By: The Revision Plan

I walk into the sunlight
The smoke won’t seem to clear
Glass shards lay across my path
The separation renders a clarity
That ends confusion that kills me

*I hold this true in everything that I pull through
This haunting scene it cheats my thoughts of what I knew
Can’t be consoled as I sift through all that remains
Must generate myself a new eternity

I’m tired of all the questions
Stuck hanging here ignored
You’ll never truly find your bliss
I’ve gained control of
A life you long to know
My motivation now prevails*

In Memory

Written By: The Revision Plan

Tell me what you see when you look inside yourself
Are you unhappy
Because the face that you wear fools me every day
Do you feel you can trust anything
After what happened
Along with everything that you’re forced to betray

*These days can’t seem to end with clarity
Your words follow me deep into the night
I’m losing sleep I’m losing everything
And I’m giving it all up without a fight
It’s over, you can come out now
Just take your time
All over, what’s lost is found
No tears to cry

Tell me what you see when you look into my eyes
Can you be happy
Because the face that you wear fools me every day
Do you feel you can trust anything
After what happened
Along with everything that you’re forced to betray*

At Long Last

Written By: The Revision Plan

If I told you everything I know you wouldn’t believe me
Singing softly to yourself, your absent dreaming
You’re lying there awake, I know you’re listening
Your body’s on the edge clumsily stumbling

*As far as I can see it’s not hopeless now
You’ll find a better way once your feet hit the ground
I swear I’m here to stay now, I have unpacked my bags
I’ll take the two for flinching, but I’m facing up at last

I see you staring back now on ancient memories
Billowing towards the sky higher than you can even see
And as we’re walking to a new day, will you remember
Just what smolders underneath these scorching embers*

And I will go wherever this takes me
And I will go even if this breaks me down tonight
Because I can say*

These Days Unlived

Written By: The Revision Plan

So we hold on to our shame not in time to realize
All the damage we have done is not what will suffice
Now it’s time to face up and relive what we’ve unlearned

Every day passes by me, regretful, insane
Wondering what has happened, why we’re living in vain
Somewhere out in the distance a darkened wind has changed
Somewhere close can you hear it, a sound we’ve never seen

A night no longer forgetful sees through until the day
Under cover of darkness we unlive our ways
There is no place to run and no place to hide tonight
Because the time is upon us to regain blinded sight

*So open those eyes and stand up my dear
We’ve stood too long and too strong for that which we fear
I am lost in deception, this weakened perspective
Left on my own to find a way out of here

Now Open up those eyes and open up your mind
Recover the days that we’ve unlived again
Look inside your heart, you’ll find what sets you apart
A fire that’s burning, burning to live again
