Biography

The Revolving is one Rock n' Rolls newest bands from the heartland of Oklahoma. Known for their hard working attitudes and "wall of sound," this band's live shows have grown increasingly powerful and entertaining. Building from an artistic and positive mind-set, front man Jason Hawkins’ songwriting has allowed The Revolving to generate a sound, and style, reminiscent of vintage Rock n' Roll. Add in lead guitarist Greg Bessemer's solo’s, David Alston's bass lines and Eddie Mullins' incredibly hard hitting beats, its hard to overlook this band. Since its formation in late 2009, what started in a church, in the back of a run down shopping mall, has grown into an entertaining and memorable Rock n' Roll show. "Of course we want our music to be entertaining and fun, but more importantly we want it to be something that's real and gives hope. Something that unites us. We want to impact more than just one group of people; we want our music to be universal." When asked about his song writing, Hawkins' states, "I just write songs about things I know. What I'm feeling and what I've been through. And that's what people are connecting with." This workhorse of a band is definitely one you will want to see live!

Lyrics

Run

Written By: Jason Hawkins

Every time I run, I always end up running, back to you
Every time I fall, I always end up falling, into your arms

I need you now, I need you more, than anything

Won’t you help me, save me from myself
Help me find my way back to you
Won’t you help me, turn it all around
Help me find my way back to your arms

Every time I love, I always end up loving, more like you
Every time I sing, I always end up singing, every song to you

Masquerade

Written By: Jason Hawkins

Why did I wait so long to fall for you
Why did I run, why did I hide away from your love
Why did I wait so long to call your name
Why did I think that I’d be better off on my own

When will we stop all the games, and let go of the pain
The time has come for us all, to step outside
Of this masquerade
When will we all say goodbye to our old way of life
The time has come for us all, to step outside
Of this masquerade

Why did I wait so long to take your hand
Why did I run, why did I hide away from your love
Why did I wait so long to follow you
Why did I think that I’d be better off on my own

Are we running for something, or running for nothing
Are we pretending to be, or pretending not to care
