On September 9, 2010, Ricky Duran and his band transformed Boston College’s Chocolate Bar into a veritable showcase of rock music. His hour and a half set, which included catchy originals and classic covers like Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition,” struck a chord with many students passing the Chocolate Bar. Most who stopped by remained for the duration of the show, quickly hooked by Ricky’s effortless guitar playing and unique talent. Though they played an intimate venue on a weekday night, the Ricky Duran Band delivered nothing less than a seamlessly flowing show befitting the likes of the House of Blues. They may be new to the music scene, but the Ricky Duran Band already creates an experience like they are seasoned professionals.

Bio
The Ricky Duran Band is a Boston based group formed three years ago. The three members are currently seniors at Berklee College of Music. They are now promoting their second original CD “Blind The Beast” released on September 25, 2010 which follows the 2008 release of “Worldwide”, also original. The band members are Ehssan Karimi (Ace) on drums, Chris Cabrera on bass and Ricky Duran on guitar and vocals. The band has played clubs in Boston, Worcester and New York as well as private parties. They play original music combined with music from Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder, Stevie Ray Vaughn and others. Each member is a virtuoso in his instrument, consistently delivering highly energized unforgettable performances. Ricky and Ace turned 21 in the summer of 2010, a date highly anticipated as it allows them to play every club. This fall/winter, they plan on expanding their already sizeable following by playing at more venues.
