The Ringers

The Ringers

BandPopRock

Bass, guitar and drums. Powerful and melodic pop/rock outfit with great, catchy and well thought out songs, high energy, and a good sense of fun. One of the tightest bands you'll ever see in Liverpool. You'll love it!

Biography

The Ringers are purveyors of fine pop music and our mission is to unleash our brand of honest, fresh, exciting new music upon the unsuspecting public. The Ringers are the best band you've never heard of. The best live band you've never seen. If you don’t believe it, come and see for yourself. We’ll make it worth your while.

We feel pop music should be about well-crafted, intelligent and catchy, three-minute songs that tell a great story, hammer home a message or just mean sod all. we have over 100 of these songs just awaiting public consumption. Do yourselves a favour and grab yourselves a big fat slice.

The Ringers are a three-piece line up from Liverpool. Our music is a powerful blend of modern rock and catchy pop, which combines to produce a fresh, exciting new sound. The Ringers are Tim (bass and vocals) Matty (guitar) and Dave (drums).

People have compared our live sound to that of The Clash, The Who and The Jam, although our songs are very much our own with a more modern twist.

We love to play, we love to shout, we love going into the studio and recording. And we're bloody nice chaps.

Lyrics

Strictly Second Class

Written By: Tim Fletcher

Verse 1

Some things in life are sent to try us; some things in life will never change.
There are things we must accept, and things we hope to re-arrange.

Like the sleaze that’s all around us, coming down from the top.
The way those pigs just fill their faces as they scramble around the trough.

Chorus

And it’s a rotten, rancid regime. Something someday I hope we’ll smash.
Unless you’re born with money or you come into money then you’re strictly second-class

Verse 2

No matter what their faces say, no matter what their mouths may tell you.
They’re always looking for a way, to beat you down and break you.

And however much you pay, however much you give in.
You know they’ll take a just little more, to maintain their way of living.

Chorus

And it’s a rotten, rancid regime. Something we never will surpass.
Unless you’re born with money or you come into money then you’re strictly second-class.

Verse 3

And I suppose we’ll never win, cos they’re not gonna let you.
No matter who you voted in, once they’re in they’ll just forget you.

And there’s nothing you can do, short of taking to the streets.
But all that’s really gonna get you, is many blisters on your feet.

Chorus

And it’s a rotten, rancid regime. Something someday I hope we’ll smash.
Unless you’re born with money or you come into money then you’re strictly second-class.

Stranger In My Own Town

Written By: Tim Fletcher

Stranger in My Own Town

It’s been so long since I saw you.
It’s been so long since you saw me too.
Then I suddenly saw your face.
And now I know why I left this place.

Stranger in my own town.
I’m only six of one.
Stranger in my own town.
I’m only six of one.

And now I’m walking down memory lane.
I see my face in a windowpane.
And it reminds me of yesterday.
And all the places that caused me shame.

Stranger in my own town.
I’m only six of one.
Stranger in my own town.
I’m only six of one.
