"Midnite Ride," the Rip-It-Ups (Boat House) 3 Stars
The Lower Cape-based band the Rip-It-Ups is composed of some local music veterans (including Joey and Johnny Spampinato and Kami Lyle) who got together two years ago to fill some time between other gigs. The group's debut CD sounds like what you'd expect would happen when a bunch of talented friends team up. The disc has a charming, easygoing feel as the band works its way through some rock and rockabilly originals and a few well-chosen covers, including Michelle Shocked's "If Love Was a Train."
The Rip-It-Ups will perform tonight at the Seadog Restaurant and Bar in Eastham, Friday and Dec. 6 at Joe's Beach Road Bar in Orleans and Nov. 15 at the Truro Community Center. - Cape Cod Times Newspaper
