"I'm excited to hear the Rising Tide on 88.1FM. They've developed an incredible following in the Detroit area, and musically they hold their own with all the bands we play. The Rising Tide is definitely one of the bright lights on the Detroit indie scene. I'm expecting big things from these guys."

Bio

The Rising Tide is what happens when the grandeur and presentation of the arena rock era meet the energy and sensibility of modern pop/rock: infectious catchiness that doesn't sacrifice value; simplicity that doesn't sacrifice skill; beauty that doesn't sacrifice intensity.

Gathering elements of musical years past - the enormous choruses of Elton John and Queen; the harmonized guitar solos of arena rock legends Boston and Bon Jovi - and injecting them with the energy of modern-day rockers like Jimmy Eat World, Mae, and Third Eye Blind, The Rising Tide has created a trademark style that emphasizes the live show.

“We’re a live band above all else,” says lead vocalist/guitarist Evan Baker. “Many bands these days are nothing but an enormous studio production and can’t back up their recordings with a solid stage show. That’s not what we’re about.”

The Rising Tide signed with the Muskegon, MI indie label Aseltine Records in early 2005 and were contracted to record their debut full length album Drive Home Dreaming, which was released in October of '05. The album’s third track, “Tell Jeremy to Put that Burning Stick Down” has been picked up by both college and commercial radio in Michigan, and by several internet radio stations and weekly podcasts.

"I'm excited to hear the Rising Tide on 88.1FM.” says Bill Keith, Station Manager of the award-winning Canton, MI radio station WSDP. “They've developed an incredible following in the Detroit area, and musically they hold their own with all the bands we play.”

During their time together, The Rising Tide has had the opportunity to share the stage with major-label artists like Billy Talent (Atlantic Records) and Elkland (Sony BMG/Columbia Records), as well as countless bands from prominent indie labels like Drive-Thru, Tooth & Nail, Victory, Militia Group and Vagrant Records.

“The Rising Tide is definitely one of the bright lights on the Detroit indie scene,” says Keith. “I'm expecting big things from these guys."

And indeed there are big things on the horizon. The band was recently accepted to play the 2006 Cornerstone Music Festival, an annual staple in the indie rock community that brings nearly 20,000 people to Bushnell, IL for 4 days of camping, friendship, and rock n’ roll. With acts like P.O.D. and Relient K on the bill, The Rising Tide is in good company, and in good position to continue their climb up the ladder to musical success.
