"Ritual" is an album that boasts killer tracks and disposable ditties, The River Phoenix could just take off if "I'm Usa You're Canada" gets decent airplay. It's infectous. Don't be fooled by the name. The group comes a long way from the LA stomping ground, where the actor, from which they take their name (although with a clever THE added) met his demise. This group is another of a long line of happening Scandinavian outfits. This lot comes from Denmark. Lush guitars and big bouncing choruses, are the order of the day, and vocals that sound as if they've come direct form the mouth of Placebo's Brian Molko. Just listen to "To be willing...." - BBC

... The River Phoenix are nothing less than mesmerising. Opening track "5 wheel Drive" highlights the fuzzy experimentation, but never at the expense of an infectious tune.
