The River When

The Northwest Indiana Americana-Folk duo The River When has seen a few things by way of their travels. Band members Casey Petro and Bob Masi have each lived in various regions of the United States from the sun of the Florida Keys to the rain of Seattle, the valleys of Western Massachusetts to the peaks of Mt. Hood in Northern Oregon. The countless faces and places and relationships along the way lay the foundation to the unique stories and songs that result from the duos collaboration.

With all the relocating the bands members have done they have each found a comfortable home base near the shores of Lake Michigan, each one enjoying the challenges of creating original music from the world they've seen and the one they haven't seen yet.

It's fitting that the bands practice and recording space is a two story barn that spent it first many decades in one place only to find itself disassembled, packed up, shipped off and reassembled in a new location. It stands the same as it once did with maybe a few more scars, maybe a few missing pieces but the in the end - being found a little battered and worn is always better than being found in the woodpile.
