"Wisdom of the Ages"

“Dickenson spins tales full of biblical references and Civil War Veterans in a warm, oakey vocal that makes it sound as if he is recounting the wisdom of the ages. You’d think these songs had been in his family for generations. The CD hints at the songs’ roots in Celtic Folk and Bluegrass.”

- Neil Gladstone - Philadelphia Citypaper

"Thinking Man's CD"

“The Rob Dickenson Band’s Tall Tales & Short Stories shies away from those angst-driven confessions that dominate pop music. Instead, this thinking man’s CD draws inspiration from literature, classic films and history and does just what its title suggests: it spins a good yarn.”
- Eric Fine - Out & About, Wilmington, DE

"A Great Blend of Music"

“The CD has gotten a great response from people. One thing that really stands out about the CD is that it incorporates so many different sounds into the music. Listening from my perspective through the headphones with you here, it is just fantastic how your sound blends together. I can’t describe it. It’s just a great blend of music!”
- Johnny B., live on 93.7 WSTW - 93.7 WSTW, Wilmington, DE

"Listeners Looking for Substance"

“The CD is a collection of musical pencil sketches of such figures as John the Baptist, a homeless person and a Civil War soldier based on Dickenson’s great grandfather, who was once a drummer boy for Robert E. Lee. He writes about the diversity of people in the United States for listeners who are looking for substance.”
- Catherine Quillman - Philadelphia Inquirer

"No Psychological Moaning Here"

“The CD is a collection of short stories. It doesn’t do a lot of psychological moaning. Jim Littmann, who plays mandolin and guitar has hands attached directly to his heart and mind.”
- Denny Dyroff - Daily Local News
