"The Rosewood Girl"

The Rosewood Girl — Even though she’s a Brooklynite now, singer-songwriter Susan Margolis wears her Columbia roots like a badge of honor with the title of her solo project. Well known to longtime scene members for her role in noisy indie rock bands like Speed Kitty and Science Knows No Sin, Margolis’ newest music trades more on her abilities as a singer, with a pretty-yet-snarling voice that dials up notes of early Liz Phair, Neko Case and PJ Harvey, and arrangements that temper some (but not all) of her early psychedelic swirl. With Milton Hall, SPF6000 and Lunch Money and John Furr DJing as SPF6000. — Kyle Petersen - See more at: http://www.free-times.com/music/concerts-in-columbia-sc-nov-13-17-111214#sthash.NcOYlhGi.dpuf - The Free Times
