The Rosie Jones Band

The Rosie Jones Band

BandCountryPunk

With influences ranging from country to punk and everything in between, The Rosie Jones Band remains an authentic dark horse within Toronto. Instrumentation consists of acoustic and electric guitar, drums and upright bass, all backing strong male and female vocals.

Biography

Unafraid of going against the grain, The Rosie Jones Band has maintained a consistent and honest approach to performing and songwriting.

Comparisons have been made to Mike Ness, Steve Earle, The Pogues, and many other musicians whom we admire. While Rosie Jones accepts these compliments gladly, we believe that we have a sensibility that allows listeners to take something home from our performances.

A very generous fan said after a show one night at the Dakota Tavern, "That was the best thing I've have heard since '94"
We replied "Have you been in a coma?!"
I think in short we have a sense of urgency about us that is contagious.

Lyrics

Cold Beer

Written By: Chris MacDonald

Well I’ve been beaten up, tossed around, dragged across the coals
Got the shit kicked outta me in just about every bar from coast to coast
But I still can’t find a pain girl, that hurt as bad as you
I’ve even tried pouring rye into my open wounds

If only I could count the ways you say that you don’t love me,
Well baby we didn’t stand a cold beer's chance in hell oh anyway

It’s not my fault you said you’d never marry a man who was married to his muse
How’s a girl to compete when guitars never lose their curves
I said I sympathize girl, but then I bit my tongue
'Cause Hell hath no fury like a woman’s scorn

If only I could count the ways you say that you don’t love me,
Well baby we didn’t stand a cold beer's chance in hell oh anyway

Well I’ve been beaten up, tossed around, dragged across the coast
Got the shit kicked outta me in just about every bar from coast to coast
Still can’t find a pain girl, that hurt as bad as you,
I’ve even tried pouring rye into my open wounds
