The Royal Guard is made up of long time friends and seasoned musicians with one simple goal - to play music. Todd has lived in many houses in many countries writing and making music. Touring all over the US and overseas, Todd has spent many years performing in a vast variety of venues and genres. Upon returning to his hometown of New York City with a new musical idea, he turned to two lifelong friends to make it happen. The first call was to Fred for insight into what direction the project should take. Andy, who has played music since he was two years old and has written, recorded and performed his whole life, as well as performing with Fred in high school, was the final key to getting things started. With the simple idea of getting together to make great music, everything fell into place.
The idea of making a recording of the collection of songs seemed the next logical step. The band searched for the right place and people to translate the vision of their music and felt they were being put inside a box. It eventually fell upon the band to record themselves, in their own basements and bedrooms, which inevitably gave them the opportunity to hone their sound and find the direction the band should go. With Andy at the helm, who is a credited engineer and producer, the band finally felt they were on the right path.
As the band began to play shows, people were instantly drawn to their music and personalities. Todd knows how to connect with the audience so sincerely that first time viewers turn instantly into devoted fans. "When we went to Europe and played for complete strangers, our music touched them so profoundly that they were traveling four hours to see us play the next day" -Andy.
The Royal Guard finished their CD 'Showdown' and have started promoting it so everyone can see just what friends can do with some drive and focus.
