Royal Priesthood

Royal Priesthood

BandHip Hop

We don't just do Gospel Hip Hop or Holy Hip Hop we preach and prophesy over hot tracks. Our purpose is not to make you jump and get crunk, but to present a message through our music. A message that will stick with you after the track is over.

“But ye are a chosen generation, a Royal Priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”

In 1998, C.O.G. (Child of God) now known as “Lyrakul” stepped out on faith to embrace a much-ridiculed ministry. Her pastor, Paul R. Johnson, known as “Pastor J” saw the gift in her, and helped to develop her talent. After completing a solo album, and being on the front line, the anointing to minister in rap was a recruiting tool to enlist other soldiers to this ‘salvation army’.

W.A.T.E.R. (Way Above The Everyday Rapper) and Joe Porter (formerly known as Shibo Raamin) helped to complete The Royal Priesthood. Although from different backgrounds spiritually and musically, they united with one common goal; to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ like never before. Individually and collectively, they are mimics of no other artists, sacred or secular. The Royal Priesthood has been commissioned by God to play an intricate role in remixing modern day urban music also known as Hip Hop.

The term remix was given to the Priesthood by God to explain what he has planned for the urban culture. In general, when people hear the word ‘remix’ they think of taking something from its original form, and making alterations to make the product superior than it was in it’s first state. Now we, the people of God, have been empowered by God to take Hip Hop from it’s original state, inject the truth about Jesus into it, and represent it to the culture, in order to infect the world and bring about Godly change.
