Feeling a bit camera shy

With a name like The Rubber Maids, many are left wondering what kind of music these four might play. Whereas “Alternative” was once used to describe every band, artist or group under the moon, you could get away with it in this case. With two guitars, bass, drums, two singers and an assortment of flavors, what you get when putting on their CD, or catch one of their many live shows, is a gourmet treat for your ears.

Started by brothers John (guitar & vocals) and Keith (vocals & guitar) in early 2004, they would see many changes in the group’s line up during the year, until finally meeting Latham (bass) and Dean (drums), giving us the band we see today. Together, these four have worked non-stop in creating a sound all of their own as well as working on their live show that is sure to leave all those in attendance out of breath, dry mouthed and panting for more.

The Rubber Maids are quickly gaining accolades throughout the interior of B.C., and in their hometown of Vernon. They’ve enjoyed a few high-profile opening slots, and can be found playing the local halls to all the appreciative Friday night high school crowds.

It really doesn’t matter what kind of music you like, or how you might label it. If you enjoy clever song writing and original yet familiar sounds, then get their CD, see a show, or visit their website ( You’ll thank me later.
