The Ruby Du Vals

The Ruby Du Vals

BandRockBlues

If Jack White were to meet Janis Joplin take a visit to Keith Richard's recording studio, it would probably sound way better than The Ruby DuVals. However, this might give you an idea...

Biography

Hailing from the shire of Gloucester, deep in the Forests of Dean, come a band made up of devoted musicians who have trodden the boards from the streets of London to the infamous Glastonbury main stage.
From an early age, each member had been taught to pilfer and scavenge any scrap of audio equipment around, never letting anything go to waste. They set about cutting the E.P. in the studio carved from the surrounding trees with the gear having been painstakingly restored by the band. It was time to push the red button.
On the first night of the recording the band made a pact - not to listen to any other music during the process. This led to an agreement that there was to be no compromise. Each member had to feel it, or it didn't go on.
Within a day the place was a mess - shreds of paper strewn across the floor, coffee cups, leads and ashtrays littered the cabin studio. Gear was exploding and drums were echoeing around the trees for miles. Suddenly it clicked. They found themselves recording Please Don't Talk. Adrenaline and energy kicked in and set the tone for the rest of the E.P.
It is with great pleasure that they present to you...The Ruby DuVals.

Lyrics

Coffins and Cabaret

Written By: The Ruby DuVals

Building Coffins from Cabaret,
Blue pills blowing your mind,
Now you're so lonely,
Yeah you're so lonely all the time.

Dance in moonlight and cellophane
It's not your only crime,
But oh you're so lonely,
Yeah you're so lonely all the time,

But let's do it again....

Taking travels to yesterday,
Painting thoughts you should hide,

Now we're so lonely,
Yeah we're so lonely all the time.

Give me this cause I want it too,
Give me this cause it's mine,

And oh I;m so lonely,
Yeah I'm so lonely all the time,

But let's do it again.......

Please Don't Talk

Written By: The Ruby DuVals

Please don't talk cause I'm listening to the sound..

Salt take good care of my wounds,
Cause I's a loser, I'm a fighter, I'm a winner,
Take heed when you're there on your knees I'm gonna run like fire to the river,
I don't care if you've heard it all before,
Cause I haven't and it's mine to discover
I've no shame,
I'm not doing it the same,
I'm gonna stand up, get down and deliver.

Taking me down to the road side view,
Watching the cars go past you,
Give me your hand and it will take us there,
Under the moon light answer my prayers.

Too much, too little, too late,
Today I'm a fighter, I'm a winner,
It's all right if the fire that you strike
comes alive when you look into the mirror,

But please don't talk cause I'm listening to the sound ,

Taking me down toy the road side view.......

Don't you Dare

Written By: The Ruby DuVals

I had a run in with you,
You had a run in with me,

I got a message from you,
Now you've got a message from me,

Well you can tell me anything you want,
But darling don't do that to me.

Thought I had something with you thought you had something with me,

Thought I was top of your list
But you've been shopping for free,

Well you can sell me anything you want,
But darling don't do that to me.

No don't you dare......

I had a run in with you,
You had a run in with me,

Thought I was head of the game,
But you were playing with me,

Well you can do me anywhere you want,
Yeah you can do me anywhere you want,
You can do me anyway you want,
But Darling don't do that to me.

No don't you dare.......
