Bio
The Ruby Plumes’ as they are known now formed in August of 2012 on a bright summer evening. The three-piece, genre-bending, drug abusing, garage rock(and roll) band of almost-twentysomethings set out on a voyage to bring rock music back into the Canadian music scene by impregnating the minds of young, impressionable, adolescents with bright trebly guitar garbage, fuzzy overpowering bass grooves, bursting post-tempo drum beats, and not quite incoherent anti-poetic lyrics. While defining a general theme for the band is a task that not even the band members themselves are sure is possible, the band's songs cover a large array of topics ranging from 'aggressively romanticized lovemaking' to 'understanding the birth of religion' and even 'getting too drunk at a party, or other such social gathering.' The Ruby Plumes find their roots in the rock and punk movements and draw influence from musical groups such as Iggy and the Stooges, Spiritualized, Nick Cave, and The White Stripes to list only a few. The Ruby Plumes are releasing a single in April of 2013 on 7' vinyl and itunes, BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! The band is in the midst of planning a large scale Canada Tour and hopes to have a full studio album released sometime in 2014. Rock, rock on, people.
