The Rugs are comprised of main people, writer Matt Darkly and Recording Engineer and Producer Eric Schuchmann.
Eric, guitar, penchant for recording and Matt, songs, guitar, bass, drum machines, stayed up late, importuned upon their musician pals, and came up with a regional gem; 2006's self-titled first record THE RUGS, which went on to gain local crowds and regional respect. It was featured an many college and internet radio stations.
After spending copious amounts of time in the studio perfecting cup of coffee and discussing the finer points of Coors light, The Rugs released VACUUM in January 2008. VACUUM is the aptly titled follow up that proved rockin' poppin' non-stoppin' hook-filled Midwestern nano-anthems ARE what the world needs and The Rugs ARE the delivery system.
