Bio
Based around the talented songwriting of leadsinger Jesper Lidang, The Rumour Said Fire formed as a four-piece back in 2008. Early days told the story of a band richly inspired by both newer indie-giants such as Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and The Shins, while the melodies and lyrics would remind of Simon Garfunkel, Bob Dylan with a twist of The Byrds.
Shorty after forming the band recorded their debut-EP "The Life & Death Of A Male Body" which was released in Denmark in September 2009. Critics instantly expressed that this was the new great hope on the danish indie-scene. A tag that was instantly supported by Danish P3, by making EP-opener "The Balcony" single of the week. Furthermore the band performed the song at the annual P3 Gold awardshow and won the "talent of the year" award too. The EP since reached 15.000 sold copies while the Balcony is close to 30.000 singles on Itunes.
Despite massive demands from both abroad and within Denmark, the band decided to do only a few selected liveshows and concentrate on writing a proper debut album. A series of high profile festival performances, including Roskilde infront of 20.000 people, summed up the succes of the EP and the band went in the studio to record "The Arrogant"
Teaming up with Aske Zidore from Oh No Ono, the band resided for three weeks in the countryside to gain full attention on the recording process. The result was an album with 10 complete new songs, which have seen the band take their sound into a hi-fi direction but still sticking to their original influences. The Album was released in DK in October 2010 with great reviews and a early signs, that this is a band which something very speciel.
