"Meet The Ruxpins"

They appeared so suddenly, I thought I was having a local music writer’s daydream.

A couple weeks back, I started getting messages from friends suggesting this new local band The Ruxpins. I’d never heard of them — nor met a single member — but there they were, already with two fantastic recorded songs, beautiful band portraits and a logo, all of which came together to instantly convey their progressive country/folk/indie Americana feel.

Here suddenly before me was a brand new local band that not only knew its sound and its audience but, well, the band just had its stuff together. And the band had only had one gig so far.

That is impressive, you guys.

I’m happy to report that the The Ruxpins are starting to book gigs, like their free show tonight at Madison’s. Get in on the ground floor with this band, because everything from its look to its sound to their branding has already come together to create a group with some very serious potential. - The Beaumont Enterprise/Cat5

Bio

We are a group of longstanding friends that have finally come together in music. We have formed from the remnants of two local acts (Daylight Broadcast and Our Left Shoe) to get back to our long lost roots in music. We hope to invoke an imagery of setting and emotion through the lyrics and music we provide you. Our hearts and souls are poured into every note and word and we can only hope to reach out and plant that image and feeling in your mind. We mix our country/americana roots with our progressive styling to give you a new and fresh spin on the genre. Enjoy and see you at a show soon!
