"Please Be Seated album review"

The Please Be Seated EP from The Ryan Express caught me off guard. Definitely one of those great projects that you don't see coming because you are completely unaware of what to expect. It starts out with an unassuming acoustic guitar riff just before Ryan brings in the vocals on "To Be Happy", a nice relaxing minimal effort. But after going through the whole 7 song EP I realized that this is pretty much all I'm going to get. On a song like "Business Matters" Ryan gets pretty excited but he doesn't have the arrangement to back up his angst. I love the intro to "Lighten Up", it reminds me of Bob Mould's guitar on some of his solo stuff. This was my favorite track on Please Be Seated. Things just get all goofy on "Beansandcornbread". Think old school grunge like Tad done acoustically.

The Ryan Express needs more but Please Be Seated shows that Ryan is on the right track with his home recording experiments. I'll be very interested to hear any of his projects when he gets more into the arrangements. It does show promise - Dennis Scanland - Music Emissions

Bio

The Ryan Express can be described as a movement originating from Kansas City. It began as a search for meaning and truths that would remedy the illogical and unfulfilling aspects of old philosophies. Challenging the mind to piece together clues other areas of control began to degenerate and out of emotional stress, a new art was born.

The art of songwriting began with a natural release of energy. Honest, passionate, and powerful music met with a will to drive and force out the complexities of life. Years of work and persistent trials opened the songwriter to further experiments and the natural desire to exploit the boundaries of musical styles. Merging indie, acoustic, and alternative styles into a single songwriting platform created a unique sound, one that would define the music of The Ryan Express.

Fusing music and philosophy into a projection of oneself the songwriter found that listeners could easily associate with the troubles and furthermore the casualties faced by the songwriter. Determined to overcome these obstacles the questioning continued until at last an answer arrived.

A transition was to be made and the other side was finally within reach. The motivational and inspirational thoughts of reaching an enlightened state poured into the music and became the material that would allow his music to fly.

The songwriter has self released 2 albums of music that have been regarded as honorable. They currently receive an abundance of airplay from online radio stations and support from the local Kansas City community. Multiple sale locations are setup with digital retail outlets and the ever increasing number of hits and interest are showing there is a significant demand for the music.

With great interest he looks forward to future opportunities! Also see www.multidoserecords.com for more information
