"CD REVIEWS"

If there's one complaint you can't make about Boise's local music scene, it's that it's flooded by industrial bands. Tongue planted firmly in cheek, The S1nd1cate approaches the metallic dance genre with polish, humor and reverence for its influences: KMFDM, Ministry, Rammstein, The Prodigy, Rob Zombie - the references are all here.

You won't know whether to moonwalk or mosh, but the S1nd1cate will make you move. Relentless computer beats, B-movie-style sound effects, vocal manipulation and ear-to-ear audio trickery transform this album into a headbanging headphones excursion. Sure, it's been done before, but not in Boise.

Just go with it.

You'll rock mindlessly to guitarist/programmer Vert S1n's robot dance party ("Never Forgotten" is a highlight) even as vocalist Mike Lee's in-your-face hollering winds up melding catchy tracks such as "Revolution is a Trend," "Got Some Issues" - even a cover of Oingo Boingo's "Dead Man's Party." - IDAHO STATESMAN - MICHAEL DEEDS

"MUSIK REVIEW"

Highly talented bands tend to crop up in the strangest locations. At one time when I lived in Caldwell, Idaho (a place I still regard as the Portal to Hell), I started making connections with underground Goth and Industrial acts in Boise, a little ways from where I lived. Amazingly, hidden in the northwestern high desert, it's an oasis for strange and bizarre acts. Who could blame them when you're stuck in an area surrounded by Mormon churches, sugar-beet farms, and meat packing plants? It has all the ingredients for the right act to rip open something artistic and raw.

Case in point is the Boise native act The S1nd1cate, a heavy and raw electronic industrial act carving a name for themselves out of the blank canvas of the broken suburban nightmare. The S1nd1cate’s sound is ominous and pressing, with thunderous distorted guitars and club synth. Their One Hour Pharmacy demo opens with “Give it up”, a punishing track with Fred Durst-style vocals and razor sharp feedback loops. “Never Forgotten” is a more gritty Aggro-tech track with heavy vocal distortions. “Sellout” features metal driving guitars and clean crisp percussion with a sultry edge vocals. “Money for Nothing” is The S1nd1cates cover of Dire Straits' breakout 1985 hit. With no edits for content, this raw industrial rendition is complete with heavy key distortion and high energy. “Control” is a estranged track with influences of trip hop and club riffs complete with raw in your face vocal talent.

Overall, The S1nd1cate presents a very grey, very dirty sound with brash cocky vocal licks. The driving guitars have a more hardcore metal sound, but combining it with keyboard gives it a high energy lift. Not quite Orgy, not quite Limp Bizkit nor Ministry, but something altogether more expansive. While the act itself is still green, their first album RELOADED, was recently released on One Hour Pharmacy Records. Keep The S1nd1cate in your crosshairs, as I see them going places very soon - FANGORIA
