Bio

No frills, high energy reggae-rock is The Sans Blank Project’s bread and butter. The Los Angeles based three piece cut its teeth playing backyard shows in Southern California, and with a new EP ready to go, the band is planning to take their viciously rocking show on the road with tours in the Western US and in Europe.

Their new EP, titled Unbuilding Buildings, is truly a transnational production having been recorded in the USA, mixed in Denmark and mastered in the USA. Grammy winning mastering engineer Brian “Big Bass” Gardner (Sublime, No Doubt, Dr Dre, Eminem) took in The Sans Blank Project and mastered the EP at Bernie Grundman Mastering in Hollywood. The new EP is self-released under the band’s Dark Kirin Records label.

To promote the release of the Unbuilding Buildings EP, tours are planned for the West Coast of the USA and in Northern Europe. Venues and dates are pending, but the band will be touring the US during February and March, and will be playing in Europe in April.

With influences ranging from Manu Chao to Sublime to Nirvana, The Sans Blank Project’s music combines grooviness and high energy into a stripped down, raw package. Underlying the emotional musical performances are thoughtful lyrics about representation, belongingness and social structure, that while iconoclastic in form, are optimistic in essence. Their music is of the type for the body and the mind.

Joe Park fronts the band, playing guitar and vocals while the musically gifted siblings Omar Blanco and Chris Melendez play the bass and drums respectively.
