Bio
The Saudades story began with Adalia Boehne (guitar, vocals) back in the angst filled greasy tween days, staring at the ceiling wanting desperately to drop out of high school and "do" music. Within those seasons of self musical discovery as well as spiritual discovery, Adalia continued to pursue writing openly about all aspects of her tangled life. Out of the labyrinth came beautiful melodies filled with the most earnest of thoughts. That might sound like faint praise, but in a world full of boastful lyrics and show-off vocal hysterics, the music always feels intimate, thoughtful and real. On many compositions of The Saudades, you get this amazing paradox of music that manages to be forceful and delicate at the same time. Some influences include: Sufjan Stevens, Camera Obscura, and The Dirty Projectors. The band formed when Adalia Boehne and Alexandra Spyridon (guitar, vocals) were sharing the stage at an art show of a mutual friend. After chatting months later on Facebook the two joined forces. Around this time Alexandra was unknowingly being wooed as she folded clothes beside Cory Pavlinac (electric guitar, bass) at J Crew. She exposed his musical genius by sharing some songs he made for her with Adalia and was shortly after, made a member of the band.
