Bio

The Scarlett Fever is once again at the top of the list of most easily infectious rock and roll diseases! For the uninitiated, this ailment is one of the most potent strains of musical infection. Symptoms include: the loosening of inhibitions, the urge to dance and love one another, and of course, unabashed worship at the altar of rock and roll. For those familiar with these symptoms through previous exposure, we can only hope the bitter antidote of your mundane and everyday work lives has not immunized you too strongly!
The Scarlett Fever, a four-piece rock band hailing from Ottawa, came together in November 2006, after having to cancel their first schedule meeting due to an emergency-room trip that resulted in singer Pat “Tap” Noonan being diagnosed with… you guessed it: scarlet fever. Once his contagious phase was finished, Pat, along with bassist “Reverend” Kevin Larmer, guitarist Luke “Iceman” Pearson, and drummer Andrew “General” Burns began putting together a set of original tunes and classic covers. By January 2007, they felt ready for their first show. Being no strangers to shameless self-promotion, they threw themselves a party in Pat’s living room for their debut show. That party led to shows at Carleton University’s Oliver’s Pub, Ottawa University’s Zampub, a series of shows at the Avant Garde Bar, and eventually shows at such venerable Ottawa venues as Zaphod Beeblebrox and Barrymore’s Music Hall.
In November 2007, the Scarlett Fever released an eight-song EP, title "The Best of 10 Months of Classics" that is a must-have for anyone professing to be a lover of things hard and sweet. The EP finds The Scarlett Fever offering a sound influenced at once by the power-pop of Cheap Trick, the energy of Guns N Roses, and the storytelling style of Bruce Springsteen, but with a modern flair of guys that cut their musical teeth in the nineties. With big vocal harmonies, a penchant for cowbell, and songs about drinking, alien abduction, lesbian girlfriends, and xenophobia, the Scarlett Fever promises fun, sometimes tongue-in-cheek rocknroll, but with an emotional point.
